Thanks Lynn,

I have the fatter ones for Aircraft Spruce, so I should be OK.  Because
of the unique exhaust system I have, they are as far away as I can get
and still measure the gas from one port.  Bob W.

Hi  Lynn,

How long do you think the probe will last 3" from the port  face?
That's about where I put mine if not a little closer.

I use the cheap Chinese jobs, so I just put in new each season rather than  loose one during operation. These are small diameter and respond instantly to  throttle movements. The needle moves as fast as the tach needle.

A good name brand American built would not be near the problem and at more  constant throttle settings would eliminate the need for quick response times. I  am guessing that the life would be shorter than that same probe downstream a few  inches, but it should be in years of service not hours as is my situation.
