I have one odd brand of filter that was supposed to fit the car, but it doesn't look like it has one. Won't be using that. I took a look at the stock Mazda 3rd gen = filters=20 yesterday, and they clearly have a bypass valve.  I have one odd = brand of=20 filter that was supposed to fit the car, but it doesn't look like it has = one.  Won't be using that.
