Hi All,

Now have over 10 flying hours on the rotary 9A and am liking it more each flight. Do not believe it will be as fast at the same fuel burn as my 6A with lycoming. Today was a very enjoyable flight. Climbed to 10.5 K altitude and turned 5500 rpm on Ed's prop at a fuel burn of 8gph I think. Do not have a good cal on my fuel flow meter but based on running 20 gals by it, I think that I was burning 8gph and doing a ground speed of approximately 140 knots. All these numbers are very preliminary. Today was the first day with all fairings on and it made an appreciable difference.

Ed and Tracy, what rpm did you cruise at with this prop at 10.5 k altitude?

My low is that it looks like I will have to pull the engine sometime and get it back to Bruce. The cranking compression is the pits. Figured this out by turning the prop thru by hand on several of the RV rotarys at SnF. Bruce thinks the apex seal springs are bogus. It has been hard to start since the very beginning. Probably will fly off my 40 hours and try to come to the rotorhead gathering at Slobvovia Outernation before I pull. Am scheduled to go to NC for 4th of July anyway.
