BTW, a few months ago I proposed the filtering ram

Jerry, Some people are so full of s--- that their hair is brown from it. I
can show you a 6 year old Suzuki in my garage with a full filtered ram air
box! The ram effect is significant. I saw a loss of .3 seconds a lap
without it at Sears Point. (on a 160HP Yamaha FZR 1000) Sears isn't the fastest
track around either with the average speeds in the eighties, top speed on an
open class bike 140-150 at the fastest point. These are speeds you will easily
see in your plane on a bad day. I don't know how many HP that .3 seconds a lap
relates to but I can tell you that 1 tenth is a lot. 3 tenths is
around 100 yards per lap! Some people are so trained by all the hearsay and
"everybody knows" drivel that they prevent themselves from
improving. Sorry to rant but I just get sick of the "you can't do that"
baloney. Obviously if your intakes are less than 2 inches in diameter then your
engine won't even start right? ;-)
