Greetings,
Can anyone tell me if the
stock 3rd gen Mazda filter has an internal bypass valve? In other words,
if it plugs up, it will bypass rather than blowing up.
I'm considering a way to
eliminate a big hose that's in the way of ever adding an air filter, but the
only way I can think to do it is to run the oil through the cooler, then to the
filter, then to the oil filter pad. At that point, it would connect to the
regulator, and to the engine. The only problem I can see with this,
is if the filter plugged up, and didn't have a bypass valve built in.
I don't see any reason why
this wouldn't work, and I can't believe I didn't think of this when I was making
the oil filter bypass block.
Cheers,
Rusty
