When I ordered the second EM-2 for my Kolb, I opted = for the LCD screen. From speaking with Tracy, it sounds like the LCD is = more readable in direct sunlight, but perhaps not as nice as the VFD at = other times. I plan to take a look at the LCD display in comparison to = the VFD, and decide which I like better, but this won't happen for at = least a few weeks. If the LCD is that much more readable, I'll probably = trade in my large VFD display for an LCD. It looks like the Velocity has a roof of sorts, so direct sunlight = might not be an issue with you. If not, then I'd go with the large VFD.
