Great to hear you are back
flying, Rusty.
Well, not yet, but close.
Err I presume you made it clear to Clark that
those were engine rpms and not prop rpm {:>) - if not you should be seeing
around 7500 static.
Hey, as smooth as my porting job was, I'll probably see
7500 anyway :-)
Sort of tough getting your BFR in your RV-3
isn't it?
I haven't found an instructor who was willing to be
duct taped to the belly yet. Just as well, the tape wouldn't stick after
all that oil anyway :-)
Sure be nice if your test area extended that
far, looks like Bernie may try to make it in his rotary RV-9.
Aside
from the 5 hours I'll impose for major modification, I'm clear of the test
area. I'll plan to remain in
gliding distance for at least 10 hours though. I guess this is going
to be my conditional inspection as well. After all, I did take the
plane apart and put it back together.
Stay out of the Navy's hair
I'm certainly going to try to avoid using any more of their
fields.
BTW, I measured my engine thrust angle
today. It was 1.3 degrees to the left before, and I shimmed the
mount 1/2" to the right. Now, the offset is .1 degrees to the
left. Essentially, I got back to no offset. With any luck, that
will make the takeoffs a bit less exciting (in a good
way).
Cheers,
Rusty ( take 4, all 3 attempts to send this last night
were "blacklisted" , second night in a row for that
problem)
