Russell, where are the secondary injectors in this scheme of things.. I see
the primaries lurking under the intake in their stock
position.. (pictures snipped for bandwidth ettiquite) Dave
In that
particular scheme (rev-1), the secondary injectors were in the TWM throttle
body.
In rev-2, I
used a Mazdatrix intake, that was modified to add two 1-5/8" ID runners.
They ran all the way over to a different TWM TB with all four injectors in
it, on the cold side of the engine (bad, don't do that).
Rev-3 started with the same Mazdatrix intake,
modified for much shorter runners (about 15" from port to end of TB), and MUCH
smoother transition from the runners to the cast intake. There isn't room
under the stock cowl for the injector rail on the TB in it's current location,
so I bored holes in the cast intake for secondary injectors (see
pic). This version used all MSD 525 (50 lb/hr) injectors.
Rev-4 is the
same, except that I'm trying MSD 400 (38 lb/hr) injectors for better
idle. I'm a bit concerned that these injectors are going to be too small,
but we'll see. I've already been able to idle easily at 700-800 rpm, which
is less than half what I could do before. I've also noticed that the
injectors mounted in the intake are clearly better at idling than the ones in
the center housing. I'll likely swap the connectors, and
consider the ones in the intake to be the
primaries.
There, that's
more than you wanted to know :-)
