Will check thread today !!

Thanks Kelly. Can you also measure how far it would extend inside? The water pump housing looks to be about 1.75" deep at the point where these threads are.

Rusty ,
Good news and bad !! The sensor will fit for depth but the thread is 12mmx1.25 as opposed
to 12mmx1.50 for the housing......You can make the sensor fit by tapping the housing for a
3/8"to 1/8" pipe thread reducer with the 1/8" pipe side redrilled and tapped for 12mmx1.25.......
when you rethread for the 12mm make sure the threads are straight (90 degrees) to the reducer
as the 12mm are straight threads and depend on a flexable gasket to seal the sensor....... I
believe you can use a 12 volt relay (SPDT)......Wire the relay coil grd side to the sensor (before
building the complete system make sure that grdg the sensor probe in coolent will operate the
relay)......Wire your warning (Buzzer and/or light) to the N/C (Normally Closed) contact of the
relay......Wire Battery (12V) to the B+ and coil......If we are lucky when coolent covers the
sensor probe the relay will operate and the N/C contacts will open cutting power to the alarm
warning (Buzzer/light)......When coolent level is low the relay will no longer have a grd from the
sensor and will release the N/C contacts setting off your alarm......I know this is basic stuff
to you and most of the group but putting it down here will help the electrically challenged (ME)
One last thing or two ......The sensor body and threads are plastic (Nylon??) so be careful
and not tighten to much.....Also buy the little elastic sealing gasket that "Mazdatrix" sells for
this sensor....... Also let us know if this thing works !!.......FWIW (NO Warranty)
