The sensor is small, has no float......When touched by coolent it provides a ground to the circuit which turns off warning buzzer.....Attached is info from "Mazdatrix"......Sensor also available from your favorite parts store......Price unknown......FWIW 
 
Thanks for all the replies on this temp sensor.   You wouldn't happen to know that the thread on the Mazda sensor is?  If it would screw into the M12 x 1.5 temp sensor threads on the water pump housing, that would be great.
