Not quite certain what you mean by "intake flange", but presume you
are
referring to the aluminum intake manifold casting (since that is what is
sitting on the table),

===>  Correct, first try too :-)

Where did that casting come from, and what's the meaning of that turbo
exhaust manifold :-)

Thanks,
Rusty

This is the manifold that Paul Lamar had cast.  He sells it for $175
including shipping.  Yes, you sharp-eyed devil, that is a 91 turbo exhaust
manifold you see next to it.  I am moving toward a turbo installation as
well, but first had to clean up the intake manifold which had the secondary
injectors down a few inches from the exhaust system and weighed a lot - like
21 lbs.  I committed to no net weight increase with the turbo, so I need to
get rid of approx 35 lbs of weight before installing it.

I am planning on elminating one of my two batteries (for 15 lbs) and perhaps
elminating the mufflers (15 lbs).  If I got rid of my 9 lbs smog/vacuum pump
as well, I would be within my weight criteria.  Plus I've lost 20 lbs (the
cheaper modification {:>)).
