I don't really feel that I'm "getting away" with anything. While we do have some cold winters (this one was quite mild.. and almost over), we don't live in our igloos all year long and we do see some hot weather in the summer. Maybe I'll have time for a trip to Southern BC this summer during some hot weather.

In the meantime Rusty is in a perfect position to begin this testing. He has his engine rebuilt but not yet reinstalled? He also happens to have 2 DC EWP's. And he lives down in the banana belt. My only concern would be that I believe Rusty already has one of the Mezeire adapter plates and would likely just use this. I agree that it is a nice piece of work, but it looks (from the pic) a little restrictive (no, lets not get into the restriction topic again:-). I built my own to allow the use of 1.25" hose for inlet & outlet. Since Rusty has recently demonstrated his ability to fabricate items such as this, it should be an easy task.

Todd, when are you going to get a chance to fly south in search of hot
air so we can finally put this question to rest?

I'm not sure when I'll have time to fly to do the deep south as we just bought a new place and will be building a large garage/hangar this summer. As well I'm negotiating on an adjoining 40 acre piece to build a strip. My neighbour is an airline pilot and wants to go partners with me on this so he can fly his C-185 home after work. I can probably put a 600' strip onto my own land where I would be taking off over a deep ravine/cliff, but this is just to dicey for comfort. So don't expect me to be showing up down south for sometime yet.
