I'm still not getting any messages and would have missed all the "fun" if I hadn't read the recent messages on the web.
Glad you're OK Paul. No, I don't have spare carbs for you. But Tracy does :)
However, I spent many an hour on the ground drilling out jets, soldering them shut and drilling again, etc. Of course I wasted a lot of time doing it without a prop. Tuning the carb without the prop you're going to fly with is a waste of time. Yes, that includes tying down the airplane and running at full throttle. Most here on the list are polite and don't want to offend, and we novices do not like to hear the truth, but Leon has got it right. You need to learn whatever system you're using, whether EFI or carbs and do it right. I've been luckly, but might not have been here to type this if I had not listened to Tracy about tying down the airplane and running at full throttle for several minutes.
On the subject of vapor lock. I have still not solved the "bubbles in my fuel lines" problem. But after talking with Ed at Fun-n-Fun in January, and having eliminated most other possibilities, and recent flights on warmer and colder days, I'm now sure a major reason is heating of the fuel. Still haven't taken the time to install a return line to try to circulate fuel back to the tank. Will let you know when I've tried that.
Rusty, regarding the O-ring. A factor is whether Bruce machined a recess in your end housing or not, as shown at the end of his video.
Finn (hoping I'll soon again receive email from the list in my inbox).
