I believe that is plumbed into the vac system. The
vac system triggers
the oil..somehow.....I think.....got to look at the
manuals...!
My understanding is that they are indeed connected to
the intake manifold and with the engine off the lack
of vacuum keeps oil from dripping out of the nozzels.
you would have a little smoke on start up if they did.
