That was me Dave,  Paul L published plans and photos of a dyno that was based on one originally built by Everett Hatch.   It may be the one still in use by Power Sport today.  It is a simple device that measures reaction rotation on a bathroom scale.   You can see PowerSports dyno on their site.  You can visit the ACRE site to see more.

The plans and photos show the dyno mounted on a trailer for towing. Mine will not have wheels but will be bolted down to the shop floor.  If you wanted yours on a trailer then the costs would go up some.  Somebody (else) (like Ed Klepeis)  ought to go into the business of making these as there would be interest throughout the home built scene.    If three or four went together  and ordered at the same time, Ed might get interested.        Jerry

A followup to another thread in which dyno time was mentioned, and a cost of $400 was thrown out there.. A respondent claimed that they could build their own dyno for that amount.
I would like the info and details regarding that... I would much rather break in our engine on a dyno, but its going to be mounted to the airframe.. It would be nice to be able to park it outside the hangar (or on a designated ramp area) to conduct a break-in AND eval of the engine.
