I'm dealing on a piece of land where we = will build a log home and hopefully my own airstrip. I'm also dealing on a 25 = ton excavator I'd like to buy to shape the land (re: airstrip), so if = successful on both counts I may have very little spare time for the list or flying = for the next 2 years.=20 =20 Good luck with the home airstrip plans. I want to do that SO badly, but just haven't been able to give up the convenience of the great location where I currently live. I'd really have to live in the boonies to have = a strip around here, particularly since Eglin Air Force Base hogs up so = much of the land. I'm afraid the best I can hope for is to eventually get = the use of a Navy outlying field that's 5 minutes from my house. They = already use it less, and less for T34's, and they can't use it for the new T-6A that's being phased in. At the moment, it's buried under hurricane = debris as a collection site. The county has been buying land around Whiting = Field (Navy) for a land swap to get the local field when the Navy stops using = it. I'm REALLY hoping that they'll cut it loose after the hurricane debris finally gets cleared away.
