Basically the pilot was warned by Ken in advance of his first flight, that if his engine quit, he would enter an un-recoverable stall because his cg was incorrect. The high thrust line of the Coot was a factor. I don't know the details that caused his engine to quit running, but it was not due to the missing metering pump, as the NTSB report suggests.
