Hi Brian;
I wasn't aware of anyone on this list building a BD4. Coincidently, just
last week an old friend of mine who has been talking about building a plane
since we were in high school, finally bought a BD4 project($9500cad). It's a
BD4 that was started in 1972 by a couple of teachers, then in 1975 after
their final inspection, but before first flight they had a falling out and
the plane was dismantled & sold. It has spent much of the last 30 years in a
barn and requires allot of work now. The engine isn't mounted any longer and
is a Lyc O-290, which is a little underpowered for a BD4.
Naturally I immediately suggested selling the Lyc and going with rotary
power. The original mount was cut up and a modified attempt was made to make
another (very unsuccessfully) sometime over the last few years, so he really
is starting the FWF from scratch.
If you have a web site or know of any good ones for the BD4/Rotary, I'd
like to pass them on to him, to help sway him over to the righteous side :-)

Jarrett,
Great work! How bout a design for the BD-4. We have several builders
including myself working on BD-4 projects that intend to use the rotary
engine.
