I had another builder (also a racer) who recommended the Aeromotive regulators as well. I've ordered one from Summit Racing, and I'll check to see if I have the correct fittings, or not. You're right the summit price of $14 ea seemed pretty high. Do you know what size they are ? I would think that since they are listed as AN-6, that they would be 3/8 NPT, but I have been wrong in the past, so if you know what they are, please let me know.
