Greetings,

Now that I can consider leaving my home fuel pump, I need to stock the plane with tools, tie-downs, and some oil.  How do you guys manage this oil situation without having it become a disgusting mess?

In the hanger, I have a plastic measuring cup, that I use to dispense 5 oz in each 5 gallon jug.  When I'm done, I end up with an oily cup, that I have to wipe out, which gets oil on my hands.  In the hanger, it's easy to pump a shot of citrus cleaner, and walk over to the faucet, but that's not going to be so easy at a fuel pump at a remote airport.

Most quart size containers of oil have a measuring scale on them, but these aren't the most accurate.  Fortunately, accuracy isn't all that important, so I imagine this is probably the best option.  These type containers would seal better than any sort of aftermarket container I can think of.

Has anyone found a good, sealable measuring device, capable of at least 15 oz, or do you just use the scale that's on the side of the bottle, and figure that it isn't all that critical?

Speaking of oil, is anyone using significantly less than 1 oz per gallon with good results?

Cheers,
Rusty (waiting for MRI parts to arrive)
