The prevailing advice is to advance timing one click at a time from the beginning set up, until there is no further increase in rpm, then retard one click. I suppose there are definable objectives beyond rpm increase, but it beats me as to what they are. Tracy's instructions advise Mode is a 'powerful tool', but I'm not completely sure of what I'm trying to accomplish with this tool.. What about expected power and economy results? What am I missing here? The prevailing advice is to advance timing one click = at a time from the beginning set up, until there is no further increase in = rpm, then retard one click.   I suppose there are definable objectives = beyond rpm increase, but it beats me as to what they are.
