Yeah, but these are the same wiring harnesses, connected the same way as on the dyno – and it worked fine there.  OK; its worth some further checking.  It is always something you least expect.

Good point, I keep forgetting you ran this on the dyno with the same setup.  So has anything in the system been changed since the dyno?

Also, you might want to try this test again.  I've had occasions in the past where I've noted a certain behavior, got all worked up trying to figure out why it happened, then could never duplicate it again.  Is there any chance you just "thought" the engine got rougher when you turned off the secondaries?  Could it have been a coincidence?  I know my engine always gets rough when flying low over the bay :-)

I can't recall if you said you tried this, but try setting the staging point up to 18 and see if it still happens.  That will make absolutely sure that you won't be staged at near idle.  I think this would be the first thing I'd try.

My thought (guess) is that the EC-2 makes a lot more MAP measurements than it reports to the EM-2.  If the intake pulsation is causing the EC-2 to see wildly changing numbers, it might occasionally go above 15, which would stage the injectors intermittently.  The EM-2 may never show this.

Good luck,
Rusty (still undecided about the new intake scoop)
