Good to hear someone else is working on this problem also. It seems that to
date the conversation about seat belts has boiled down to "well I got the
seatbelts out of a ______(you name the car)". We need to find a good,
affordable system that is made to fit our aircraft - IV and IVP's in this
case.
At Sun n Fun, Doug Pohl and I had the guys from Hooker Harness inspect Jim
Rahm's airplane for ideas on front seat belts. Hooker will make a test set
for Doug Pohl and if they work out, we'll let it be known. We may then
agree to be bulk purchasers and resell them to the Lancair family. They
have various colors, the retraction device is high quality and low profile
and price should be considerably better than the $300 reported for the
Columbia belts.
I don't think we talked with them about rear seat harnesses, but I'm sure
they can do that as well.
Regards,
John Barrett, CARBINGE
