Joe, you don't have to build anything if you buy the lead shot like I did.
The shot came in sturdy bags that I used without doing a thing other than
adding an extra tie-wrap around the end that opened (it already had a
draw-string - the tie-wrap was just insurance). If I remember, I purchased
several 10 and 20 pound bags. Some of it was used to make the elevator and
rudder counter-weights after it's use as building weights was over.

Never had a bag rupture during the building phase. If you have a friend who
reloads shot shells, find out what size shot he usually buys and get that
size. You'll have a place to unload all that lead when you're through
building as it's probably classified as toxic waste nowadays and hard to get
rid of.
