The Douglas compasses (used in the DC-9, MD-80, etc. as well as the DC-8)
have a card that's printed backwards so they read corectly when viewed in
the mirror, which flips up on the glareshield when used. It's a very simple
system if you can find one of the backward printed compass cards.
