I can't see the hole mis-location weakening the spar any more than the called
for hole would -- it should just be a nuisance (or show stopper) for whatever
you're installing. As long as you don't damage the caps the spar should be fine.
They are what carry the main load, the web just separates them.
That being said, I would want to repair the hole so I could move it to its
proper location. I don't know if AC43 addresses the spar but it does describe
skin repair. I would think filling with a plug, scarfing the surrounding area
per the AC and patching would do the trick. Then re-drill and have a nice day.
Keep in mind these are ideas based on standard literature with no experience
whatsoever with Lancairs and honeycomb cores. I'm building a Glasair.
