I installed the main gear hydraulic assemblies today according to the book.
1. gear leg against down stop.
2. hydraulic assembly plunger locked in down position.
3. adjusted plunger FWD to mesh track with pinion gears.
My question is how much play should there be in the gear leg when down and
locked? The hydraulic plunger is moving around 1/8" which translates into
gear movements that I think are excessive. Will this play go away when the
system is pressurized?
When the gear on my Cessna was down it was down with no play.
Thanks
