First Union Securities, Inc.
I spoke with Don Goetz at the factory several times over the last few days
about my pig of a 360. The good news is that he said a significantly higher
gross should not be problem with the additional power that I have in the
plane. He suggested I be wary of hot days and avoid turbulence until fuel
is burned off. I intend to avoid turbulence anyway... so this is good news.
When I originally posted that I don't have a weight and balance problem, I
really meant "I can solve the problem". But after talking to Don this
morning, I am a little confused, and would like to get some feedback from
the list.
I informed Don that I had a small FORWARD CG problem when flying solo, with
a full header and no wing fuel or baggage. There is no way to get an aft CG
problem. But this information is based on what I thought to be the
specified CG range - FS 24.5 to 30.3 - but that isn't what Don just told me.
He said that, for the Mark II tail the CG was moved FORWARD 3 inches, from
24.5 to 27.3. Well, this works for me, but doesn't seem to be consistent
with other information that I have read on the list. And I would think that
most people would have a rather significant AFT CG problem with these
revised numbers.
I am a little embarrassed to call Don again until I do some more research -
any thoughts???
Matt
