I believe that this refers to the old Clark foam that was customary several
years ago. I just used the yellow foam ("Last-a-foam", I think) that came
with the kit. Aircraft Spruce touts the yellow Last-a-foam as the
replacement for the white Clark foam.
By the way, I tried to cut a beveled edge on the foam with a utility knife
without much luck. I mean, it cuts like butter but came out a little ragged.
I quickly switched to a small piece of sandpaper (100 grit, I think) and got
a nice clean edge in just a few minutes. Maybe 5 minutes for the entire
perimeter of the foam piece. Rough out the shape with a razor knife and sand
to final shape by hand. It will look great and probably take you longer to
get the foam out of wherever you store it than it will take to make the piece.
