When I unloaded the wings, I was a little dismayed to find that the leading edge of my left wing had worn away the padding and had allowed the 1/2 inch plywood cradle to saw a small hole through the leading edge of the wing and into the fuel cell. : - ( I remember reading a detailed report of a wing repair some time ago but cant recall exactly where. Also, this damage is so small, I was wondering if the repair could be make externally by just adding several layers of carbon fiber, then filling in with micro/flox. Unfortunately, the repaired area would have no internal fuel sealer. Would appreciate info from anyone who has made a sucessful fuel cell repair. Regards, Billhogarty@aol.com [The info you're seeking is in Lancair Network News, issue #44, p589. The article was submitted by Larry Graves and Dave Saylor of AirCrafters and was entitled "Repairing a Wing Leading Edge Bird Strike". While the cause of your damage may be different, the repair procedure remains the same as outlined in the article. Issue #44 was the April/May, 2000 edition. ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
