If you use the Lancair jack adapter a small floor jack can barely work. This is okay for tire and brake work, but doesn't allow you to suspend the gear leg, which you need to do to check the clearance of the leg in the socket. To do that you can take off the gear inspection plate and jack against the attach bolt. I modified the fairing so I can jack on the main spar itself. I'm sure you can also put a board under the main spar area and jack against the wing, but I've never done that on a Lancair. I'd suggest jacking out toward the wingtip to reduce the loading - but again, I've not done it that way. It works on a Cessna, FWIW.
