Lancair did very well, indeed, save for Saturday's race where, I believe, the company torch lost a piece of gap tape holding down the Nylon gap seal tape. That caused a severe vibration (enough to cause the pilot to 'mayday' out and land). Someone said he couldn't cage his eyeballs for a bit. They won handily Friday and Sunday at 335 mph. I'm lost on the rest of the entrants but there were more Lancair IV's in there and smokin' along. Oh, the Thunder Mustang came in second, I think, on Sunday. In the unlimiteds Dago Red cleaned up at "only 90 inches" boost. They went for the 500 mph lap about an hour later but blew the Merlin seconds after take off. So sad... Oil and parts everywhere and a big bulge in the block under the #2 cyl. Poor Dwight Thorne lost both his engines to failure this year. Reno is somthing of a scrap heap by Sunday afternoon. Rabbits Dan? Gee, now I remember... never hit one. I always liked the old 50 yard line on 47J.
