A few years ago, a friend in Wichita Kansas got a test area for his Glasair III (from the FAA examiner) that was the state of Kansas less a circular area centered on Kansas City. Another friend just got his Glasair test area (from FAA examiner) of 80 nm radius centered on a non-home airport. N425A, 4 hours and flying.
