The nose gear tunnel should be sealed off from the engine compartment when the nose gear is retracted. Mine is still under construction, so I don't have pictures of the entire flapper mechanism, but I do have the nose gear "boot" that attaches to the firewall. There should be a flapper that seals this off when the nose gear is retracted.
Mail Listers,
I have a problem of my nose gear door blowing open in flight. Mainly the trailing edge, so I'm told. I assume the cowling exit air is pressurizing the nose gear well, then escaping out the back. At one point saw pictures of a part attached to the nose gear strut that closes out the firewall from the nose gear well, but can't seem to find them now. An odd shaped little thing. Does anybody have a picture of their part?
I have an idea what it would look like in my head, but I didn't want to start working on it as that would violate my #1 rule: cheat first.
Thanks,
Tom McNerney
