They won't like it but ... I did this and the woman who was directing me got frustrated that I couldn't just drive the plane onto the grass with the propeller off. Had to explain to her that there was no power to the wheels - lol -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of David Weinsweig Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 8:01 AM To: lml@lancaironline.net Subject: [LML] Taxiing at OSH Anyone have advice on how to avoid or at least minimize taxiing on the grass after landing at Airventure. The last time I flew my Propjet to OSH a few years ago they quickly put me on the grass despite my gesturing objections which made me very nervous with the prop clearance and bumps. I understand that Joe Bartels bent his engine mount taxiing on rough grass. I prefer to go to or get as close as possible to aircraft camping though I would rather park close to asphalt and "backpack" to camping if need be. Anyone know if there will be a Lancair parking area? Gonna try to go for a night or 2 hopefully for the LOBO dinner but not willing to risk the grass taxi again.
