Well, the extended wing tips DO have some downsides:

  1. Main spar modification needed
  2. Lower top speed, but supposedly getting better at high altitudes. (No idea what "high altitudes" are)
  3. More difficult to fit the wings on while I'm building in my garage. (They are 2 ft longer for each wing)
  4. Makes the aircraft heavier
  5. No factory option to imbed lights, must use the protruding tip lights
The VG's look like they don't have all of the down sides of the extended wing tips.

I think I'm talking myself out of the extended wing tips the more I think about it.

Nice info on the VG's!  I've been contemplating whether to install the extended wingtips on my 360 MkII, now it looks like I have another option to reduce the stall speed.  Assuming I even need that.

This doesn't make the decision-making process any easier.
