Well the good news (or bad news depending on whether you're buying or selling) is that unless the design was patented is isn't "owned" by anyone.  You're free to copy and build as you wish.  The drawings themselves might be copywrited, but that's not normally done.  If you make your own drawings you are free of even that constraint.

I'm one of those who was looking to purchase one. I didn't put in a
deposit however. If the details on how they are build [fabrication drawings] were
available, I have access to every CNC toy known to man as well as am a
10yr vet using SolidWorks and am pretty sure I could produce the product.
For that matter if we had access to one already built I have the ability
to reverse engineer for details so they could be produced once again.
Do we know who owns the design?
