I'd go back to McMaster and check their part # 3184K1, which is
silicone and crush resistant (probably ok for minimal vacuum). Another option would be their #5393K41... it's PVC but rated for vacuum.
Dig deeper there, you're bound to find the right thing.

fat rubber hoses seem like overkill.
I was thinking something like the dh instruments dh400
might do but they seem
to have been acquired by Fluke and Fluke doesn't seem to be selling the hose
anymore.
Any suggestions?
