I have what started as the M1B (rear-mounted prop governor) but since it was modified with high compression pistons it now has a designation of IO-360-EXP. To keep from overstressing the engine too much I normally run it at about 2400-2500 RPM and 24” MP except during take-off.

Subject: [LML] Which 360?
Well, I got no responders on my first note. I had hoped to have ideas from all the 360 drivers that told me what they did, what they’d do differently and the pitfalls/benefits of their installation.
Any one out there that would like to comment?
Jim
I have an opinion and I’m sure you have one too.
What is the best dash number for the Lycoming IO-360 – 180hp for the LNC2. Don’t care which mount.
Vans has the IO360-M1B and Glasair has the IO360-B1E. Both have different configurations obviously. The B1B is recommended by Lancair, and apparently has a forward facing throttle body, but who sells those? And is a rear facing throttle body the suitable setup?
