As soon as you see the bottom line of text ( it will say something like "blah , blah, fixed disk" ) comes up push both encoders ( knobs on the front of the unit) at the same time. - this should cause the screens to go white and reboot. -hopefully at that will bring up the ground maint menu -if not try the hard boot procedure again Lynn -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of David Weinsweig Sent: Saturday, February 16, 2013 10:21 PM To: lml@lancaironline.net Subject: [LML] Chelton NavData updates In the past I have had some issues updating my Chelton NavData. If it wouldn't update I would buy a new smart media card off of eBay and everything would seem to work. The last time I updated using the same card that I have been using for quite some time without any glitches, it took 3 tries/reboots on each screen to take(in the past I would given up and buy a new card but this time I kept trying). The first 2 times the Cheltons just booted up as though there was no smart media card in place though I'm sure it was put in properly. Any ideas/suggestions. Just a bit concerned that someday in the not so distant future our wonderful Cheltons may be truly obsolete due to inability to update the data.
