Try posting this on the http://www.cheltonefispilots.com/forums/index.php.  Tim Olson runs the site and is very good about helping.

Subject: [LML] Chelton Sport Advice

The situation:

MFD #1 of 2 when turned on goes through the BIOS boot and then returns a blinking cursor.  Multiple reboots produces the same result (pushing both knobs at same time for a few seconds).  MFD #2 boots right to Chelton Flight Systems screen.

The scenario and events leading to the situation:

I have a Crossbow 500 AHRS that quit giving attitude reference about the last 15 hours of flight time.  I have two brand new Chelton units that have never come out of the box.  They are 2006 or 2007 vintage.  I have a brand new Poinpoint GADAHRS  with MSU and GPS antenna also never out of box and same  vintage.

My plan has been to replace the Cheltons and install the Poinpoint equipment at the same time.  I was told that I could swap out the Cheltons but should first pull off the “limits.txt” file using a smart media card in the #1 PFD.

I first removed the Crossbow 500 ( unplugged it) and then remembered to get that limits file.  Booting up the #1 PFD resulted in the problem in the first paragragh.  Mutliple tries with the card in or out did not improve the result.  Then I plugged the Crossbow AHRS back in to see if that would help.  No improvement.  I can’t think of another trick to get beyond this and I  am wondering if any of the steps I did could have brought this on.

To be very clear, no matter how I boot up (with or without the memory card and by turning the unit on or by pushing the two knobs) I get the same result.  Once the BIOS testing is done the screen goes to a blank with a blinking white cursor on the left side.

Any help or advice on how to get the limits.txt file appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
