I went to my locksmith with the code and they could not bring up the lock grind formula.  Fortunately I had a spare key and they could duplicate the key easily.  Thus make TWO extra keys now.......don't wait until you need the code.

Do you suppose that Lancair used the same key on all their locks?  I have no idea, but I happen to have my ES key in my pocket.  It is an "ACE" key made by Chicago Lock Co., code number L 1517.  Can you find a code number someplace on the lock?  I hve no idea.  That reminds me - I should put this info in my master parts list and scrouge around to see if I have a spare someplace.

Dr Katz,
These keys are not all alike. I have 3-4 different ones you could try if you want me to send them, but it’s a crap shoot as to whether any of mine would work in your lock…
Please send a mailing address if you want me to do this.
