Hi,
We're seriously considering building a L2000, with IO-550. However, on
examination of the specs for useful load, it would seem that with 2 170lb
individuals and minimal baggage, and full fuel, we would be right up against
the gross weight limit. We save about 100lbs with the IO-360 engine. I'm
not altogether sure what the CG limits for the aircraft are. My questions:
the fact that we are so close to gross weight seems to severely limit the
weight of the avionics we plan to install (fairly substantial
components--Garmin 530 Stack etc), or make it a one person airplane. What
are the loading characteristics of the aircraft in terms of CG
limit......easy or more difficult to load out of CG with this type of load?
For the useful load published, it would seem that a substantial IFR
instrumentation panel would almost make this a 1 person ship.......Am I
missing something? :) Thanks for your help....we're excited to begin
this project.
