Hi Adam,

First, Congratulations on your engagement.  Saw the news on the LOBO news flash.

Second, I had a similar experience of leaking valve covers.  I had the silicon gaskets, but no matter what I did I seemed to keep getting the leaks.  Turns out that was not the source of the leaking oil.  Instead a couple of the valve guide tubes had leaks and those O ring gaskets had to be replaced.  I chased the leaks for weeks until I finally had a mechanic look at it and he discovered the true source.

Good luck,

John Barrett

Even after replacement, my valve cover gaskets leak. I am using the stock TCM p/n 655705A gaskets, which appear to be a heavy paper impregnated with something. I’ve re-tightened the valve cover screws, but the leaks keep coming back, especially on the exhaust valve covers. Will the gaskets eventually compress and seal properly? Should I try gasket sealer? Has anyone had better luck with aftermarket silicone gaskets?

Thanks,

Adam Molny
