Adam,
I use silicone gaskets on my 320 valve covers and, once the cover
screws were tightened to 9 inch pounds (or so), they have remained leak less for
the last 6 years.

Even
after replacement, my valve cover gaskets leak. I am using the stock TCM p/n
655705A gaskets, which appear to be a heavy paper impregnated with something.
I’ve re-tightened the valve cover screws, but the leaks keep coming back,
especially on the exhaust valve covers. Will the gaskets eventually compress
and seal properly? Should I try gasket sealer? Has anyone had better luck with
aftermarket silicone gaskets?
Thanks,
Adam
