Clark,
     My exhaust tubes are clamped together about five inches forward of the
firewall.  A fairly stiff spring runs up from that clamp to the engine mount
where the spring is secured with another clamp.  I am not sure if the
exhaust tube clamps were on before DeHate showed up but I am sure he said
the spring attachment was needed to provide additional dampening support for
the exhaust.  Make sure to safety wire your clamps.
