I'll recommend one change to that: do NOT tell them you are using the part in an
aircraft. Some companies may take an interest, but I've run into a couple that
instantly took the product liability stance.

The cool factor might not be the same, but tell them you're building a part for
an underprivileged kid's go-cart.
