The tire did not interfere with the fittings, but they were uncomfortably close to the lines. 1) If I had known what I was doing, I would have drilled the holes for the fittings more forward, to allow the lines to lay atop the phenolic brace that the cylinder "bolts" to. If you have not made the glass-to-glass section of your cockpit closeout ribs, inspect a completed Lancair and take measurements. You'll probably understand it a lot better when you're done, and will make the glass-to-glass portion about an inch farther forward, and the holes up higher. 2) The bottom-most line (the high pressure line, which is closest to the fuselage floor) was the culprit. I made a small section of hard line from the bulkhead fitting to about 4 inches outboard, which then joins to a flex line. The hard line has a substantial jog in it, both to clear the tire and also so that I can clamp it with an Adel clamp to the phenolic plate that the cylinder "bolts" to. The Adel clamp goes around the fitting on the outboard end of the hard line. The fitting attaches to a union, and thence to the fitting on the inboard end of the flex line. Tighten the fittings first, THEN the Adel clamp. My EAA Tech Counselor thought my fix was just fine. - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
