Dear all,

As a direct result of the advice of you guys G-FOPP is now fully
serviceable again.  The magnetic reed switches were all okay, it was the
flap motor jamming against its fully retracted stop and then not being able
to reverse without overloading the relay and popping the CB.  I
disconnected the flap motor from the flap mechanism (I have the torque tube
system) and re-set the adjustment so that the flap motor had about 1/2" of
rod showing when the 'up' magnetic reed switch stopped the motor. This
means that the 'down' direction of the motor is instantaneous rather than
having to struggle to un-jam it self.  I recommend that, when you fit the
flap motor, all adjustments are carried out to place the motor in a
position so that at least 1/4" of flap motor pushrod is extended with the
flaps fully up.  I hope this is understandable because it took me a fair
amount of time to puzzle it out!  I am very grateful, as always, for the
LML's help in solving this conundrum.

Kind regards,

Michael
