I use a simple hand towel (probably borrowed from a Holiday Inn) with a red warning tag key chained to the corner, towel pulled (stuffed) into the gap at the top of the rudder assembly, securing it in either direction.  I'm tall, almost 6'4", so reach is not a problem.
